CJ Murray is Of Counsel at Lee & Lee, PS. She dedicates her time to working in private practice as a litigator, as well as to her activities as Judge Pro Tempore (JPT) for King County District Court. For nearly 3 years, she has presided over Domestic Violence, DUI, and other misdemeanor criminal matters, as well as civil Protective Orders and Small Claim law suits. She is well-respected among prosecutors and defense attorneys as a fair and rational jurist. Prior to entering private practice and serving as a judge, Ms. Murray worked for over twenty years as a prosecutor in the King County Prosecutor’s Office. In that capacity she handled approximately 100 felony cases, including Aggravated Murder and Sexual Assault prosecutions. During her final tenure as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, she worked in the Sexually Violent Predator Unit, civilly committing repeat sex offenders to a Washington State-run treatment center.
Ms. Murray has been a member of the Washington State Bar since 1990. She has committed countless hours to non-profit causes and served on non-profit Boards, which include a member of the Madison Park Community Council, President of Highland Skating Club, and a committee member of the National Figure Skating Ethics Board. She has traveled extensively, and she founded and co-owns a travel company, “A Bridge to China,” which focuses on offering educational and cultural experiences in China for Western tourists.
She received her Bachelors of Science from the University of Montana, and her Juris Doctorate from Seattle University.
